indoor and outdoor play spaces

inside there is a toy shelf with books and other materials used primarily for language development. everything in the child's reach is stored in an orderly, accessible way, so that they will choose what interests them, and be able to find it again, without the aid of an adult, instilling a sense of freedom and self confidence.

on the patio the child finds a double sided chalk board, a table just the right size for art projects or a place to eat snack, a shelf that stores all of the tools ready for use in the sand pit and at the water table.

our outdoor space is shady and cool all morning, weather permitting, we will spend half of a three hour cycle enjoying the sand pit, water table, swings, and other outdoor equiptment.

because of our quiet location that borders on coconut groves and buffalo pastures, we are often accompanied by the sights and sounds of birds, butterflies and other creatures, giving children a first hand experience of nature.

children at this age explore and learn through their senses, and we are there to give them the language to begin to express their thoughts and feelings about what they have encountered.
