I came to teaching small children by accident really. I never set out to do so, but while teaching English to various aged people around Asia, I discovered I preferred working with small children. When I became a teacher in training in the Kindergarten at the local Montessori school, it was because I wasn't satisfied with the way I was being asked to teach in more traditional schools. Being with young children in an environment that encourages mutual respect and a scientific approach to education, is exactly what I was looking for. Now I am passionate about education for the very young, because they form themselves from what we give them at this crucial stage of development.
